Ceci finally lost her two front teeth. They have been loose for awhile, but she would never let us wiggle them. She's been eating from the side of her mouth for quite some time. I finally was able to get her to let me tug on them. One came out with no problem, but the second was more stubborn. She insisted on having Daddy do it. Why, I don't know. He is such a wimp when it comes to pulling teeth. It takes him forever. She sounds so funny. Love it.

More breaking boards and almost a bottle
Scott and Ceci had tae kwon do testing a week ago. Here is some footage of their board breaking. Ceci had to try and break two boards with her high and low spin kick. She is so cute. She finally broke one. Scott had to first try and break a bottle. I thought for sure he was going to break it, but it didn't happen. He was pretty disappointed. If you can't break the bottle, you break a board with your hand instead. He broke the board without any problems.
I helped out with testing that day. It was pretty grueling. Once you become a dan bo nim you have to log at least 100 hours of work (help out with teaching, testing days, etc.) at the school before you even can test for black belt. I have long way to go, but one way to get some hours in is to help with testing of the lower belts. It's was non stop for 3 hours and if you mess up you have to do push ups. I was very sore the next couple of days:) I messed up a couple of times. The black belts put you on the spot to demonstrate a move and, of course, my mind goes blank and I can't remember the simplest of moves. I was pretty nervous. I was pretty mad at myself, but it was my first time. I will get better in time.

New additions to the Gibby Clan
Our little family is growing. Three red, bellied toads have joined the Gibby clan. They are quite the escape artists. When we woke up this morning, one was missing. We were in a hurry to get to tae kwon do testing, so we knew we weren't going to be able to spend much time looking for it. Although when Scott went to turn off the kitchen light, our missing toad was found hopping across the floor. Scott quickly caught him and put him back. Whew..that was close. The last thing I wanted to find in a couple of weeks was a dead toad behind the fridge. Yuck! We are keeping our eye on that one. Enjoy the photos of them.
Marcus plays twinkle, twinkle little star
Marcus was so happy to finally learn to play a song on the violin. He practiced real hard all week. Enjoy!

Field Trip to Crowe's Nest Farm
Ceci's kindergarten class had a field trip to Crowe's Nest Farm in Manor, TX last week. The kids had so much fun. It was pretty nice, but hot. The cow in the picture was not very happy, since she was separated from her baby. Her owners are weaning the baby. The cow kept mooing. It was soooo loud. I had no idea how loud they are. After the demonstration, she took off to find her baby. I didn't think cows could move that fast either.
They had all sorts of animals to look at including exotic chickens if there is such a thing. Some of them were actually pretty with such elaborate feathers. We saw several owls that were awesome. Marcus is jealous. He is obsessed with owls. He and my mom have something in common. He loves her owl paintings. The farm also had a faerie wood. It was beautiful. Faeries everywhere. Ceci loved it. The kids loved the animal graveyard. Real nice place. It's not open to the general public, just schools.
I also found out on this trip that Ceci has an admirer. His name is Aaron. He is always holding her hand or putting his arm around her. She doesn't mind the attention. I had mixed emotions about this. I know they are only six, but she's my little girl. Hands off! Scott was pretty upset. I didn't think he was going to get so worked up about it. Ceci will never get to date with her Dad around:)

Grandpa and Grandma Gibby come to visit

The kids had a good time with Grandpa and Grandma Gibby. I don't know how much of a vacation it was for them since they helped put in a garden:) Not everything was work for them. We took them to Waco, TX to visit the Texas Ranger Museum. I have never seen so many guns in one place. Grandpa sure loved it. We came at a time when they were doing some special activities for kids. The kids went on a treasure hunt looking for clues throughout the museum. They made their own bandanas and were fingerprinted. They had a good time playing dress up, but Jared refused to participate. He eventually was coaxed by Grandpa to take some pictures, but wouldn't smile. I will post them once I find them:)
Ceci's Birthday Party
We finally had Ceci's birthday party with friends. We had celebrated with just family on the day of her birthday, but that was not good enough for our Ceci. So a couple of weeks later, we had another party with her friends. We just had three girls over. That's all I could handle:) They had fun making their princess tiaras and digging for some jewels in the sand box.
The castle cake is the one Grandma Gibby made for Ceci when they came to visit. Thank goodness grandma was here to make the classic Gibby castle cake. I hear this cake has been made in the past for the Scott's sisters. Ceci loved it. For Ceci's birthday party with her friends, I made cupcakes using a cake mix. That is the extent of my baking ability:)

Marcus places third in Pinewood Derby
Marcus placed third at the pinewood derby in January. His car is in the third lane (black car with orange stripe down the middle). It was the best he's ever done, so his last year competing went well:) He was very happy.
